A BROMSGROVE author is releasing his second novel for children, ‘The Awakening’.
Tim McGovan, who was born in Bromsgrove, has written the book for children aged 10-14 after finding success with his debut novel ‘The Girl with the Green Eyes’ in 2013.
The Awakening tells the story of 14-year-old Ellie-Mae Harper, who moves from her home in a city to her uncle and aunt’s converted Victorian schoolhouse in rural Herefordshire following a family bereavement, and discovers the building hides a tragic past, as well as some unsettled spirits.
The book is a traditional ghost story, but also attempts to tackle some issues that many children would be familiar with.
