MERRY Hill has helped to grant some lucky shoppers’ Christmas wishes this year, by hand-delivering the items on their wishlists and spreading some festive cheer.

On the Friday before Christmas, the Christmas Wishes initiative saw curious shoppers climb into the sleigh that had appeared in centre and tell Santa what they'd really like for Christmas this year.

Little did they know the man himself – along with one of his trusty elves - would later turn up to deliver their hoped-for gifts in person.

The unsuspecting shoppers included Glen Coffield, from Dudley, who later opened his front door to Santa who handed over the keys to a brand new scooter – a replacement for the one that had recently been stolen.

Rob Pickersgill, marketing manager at Merry Hill, said: “Christmas is such a magical time of year, and the Christmas Wishes initiative was our way of encouraging a little more goodwill in the season by giving back to our shoppers.

“No one suspected a thing, which made their surprised faces when they opened the door to Santa Claus all the more rewarding.”

He added: “We hope all of our shoppers have a very Merry Christmas, and all the best for 2015.”
