A CHURCH in Catshill is marking its 75th anniversary next week by inviting members of the community to come in for a week of celebratory services.

The Welcome Hall Evangelical Church was started by Joseph Lewis in 1939 and hosts all sorts of community activities including a weekly mothers and toddlers group, coffee mornings and children’s and youth activities on Sundays and throughout the week.

Current pastor Jeremy Brooks, said: “Many have found saving faith in Jesus Christ, and others have grown in their faith. We seek to be a community of faith, hope and love, reaching out with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.”

Church members are delivering anniversary invitations to every home in Catshill to welcome new and old friends to the church for the week, which runs from Monday, November 24, and there will be a number of special anniversary services, with special services on Saturday, November 29 at 7pm and Sunday, November 30 at 6pm, both of which will be followed by buffet suppers.
