AN antique from Hereford, described as one of the most spectacular military hats an auctioneer has seen, is going on sale for more than £2k.
The rare military hat described as a Hereford 36th foot bell top shako is being sold at Lockdales in Suffolk with a guide price of £2,000 to £2,250.
It dates from from the early 19th century and will go under the hammer on November 15.
Chris Elmy of Lockdales said. “It’s one of the most spectacular military hats that I’ve ever seen.
"It is a very early piece of uniform and quite spectacular."
