IN the lead up to Bonfire Night Alvechurch Library will be holding a series of family fun activities.

Starting on Monday, October 27 at 2.30pm there will be an eco-create and craft session. Children and adults alike will be asked to create their own Guy Fawkes using eco materials. They will then be encouraged to donate their creation to a local bonfire of their choice. There will be a small charge of £1.50 for this event.

On Tuesday, October 28 there will be two poetry workshops. Children aged seven-nine years can join in from 11am to12.30pm. A second session for older children aged 10-12 years of age will start at 2pm and finish at 3.30pm. The cost for this activity will be £1 per child.

The library is also hosting two free Explore Learning community workshops on Thursday, October 30.

A spokesman said: "Alvechurch Library is offering a great mix of things to do for all ages over the bank holiday weekend. These are family orientated sessions that will help keep both children and adults busy. We hope to attract as many people as possible to these great events."
