THE chairman of Bromsgrove Magistrates took the unusual step of speaking out over plans for the town’s new courts. Jean Davidson urged planners not to delay proposals to extend the Ednall Lane courts after the planswere deferred. She said failure to seize the opportunity would see Bromsgrove lose out altogether.
à IT was announced that Decor 8 was opening anew DIY store at the corner of Bromsgrove High Street, while another business – whose name was a mystery – was set to open near McDonalds restaurant.
à TRADITIONAL red telephone boxes were set to become a thing of the past in Bromsgrove. Members of the district’s planning and highways committee were told British Telecom intended to replace the boxeswithmodernhi-tech replacements in the town centre.Councillor Myrtle told the committee that she would fight to keep them, saying they added a lot to the character of Bromsgrove.
