HANBURY Village Hall is set to get a £5,000 funding boost.

The facility has been awarded the cash in the latest round of LEADER grants.

The Worcestershire LEADER Programme is funded jointly by the European Commission and the UK Government and administered by Worcestershire County Council.

The grant will enable the site to replace the current inefficient kitchen equipment.

Councillor Simon Geraghty, Worcestershire County Council's cabinet member for economy & infrastructure, said: "LEADER funding in Worcestershire has resulted in some exceptional projects to benefit rural communities and stimulate the rural economy.”

Another group to benefit from the funding support is Guy's Footprints who will receive just over £23,000. The charity supports children and young people and their families in Worcestershire following the death of a parent, sibling or other significant person in their life.
