Retained firefighters wanted for Droitwich station

THE fire service is looking for people to join its retained crew at Droitwich Spa station.

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service is holding an awareness and information day for anyone who is interested in becoming a retained firefighter.

Anyone interested should be over 18 and live or work five minutes from the Friar Street station.

The service pays an annual retaining fee for giving cover plus hourly pay for attending incidents.

Each firefighter is trained to a high standard and many skills learnt can be used in everyday life such as first aid.

Anybody interested can attend Droitwich Fire Station on Monday, September 10 at 6pm.

Contact crew commander Simon Jelfs on 07834351245 for more details.

More information on becoming a retained firefighter can be found at hwfire.org.uk or by calling the recruitment team on 01905 368343.
