BOOK-loving pupils from Droitwich Spa High School have met a popular broadcaster and author.
Fourteen science students from the town visited Stourport High School on Tuesday, May 8 to see Simon Mayo.
The event saw youngsters from across the county convene to hear the famous Radio Two presenter talk about reading and writing and to have copies of his first novel, called ‘Itch’, signed.
Mr Mayo’s novel is about:Itchingham Lofte - known as Itch – who is fourteen and loves science, especially chemistry. He's also an element-hunter: he's decided to collect all the elements in the periodic table. Which has some interesting and rather destructive results in his bedroom.
Heather Evans, librarian at Droitwich Spa High School, said: “Simon was a great speaker and his book is well written and makes science fun.”
