STAFF and officers from Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) have been praised for achieving outstanding health and safety training results.

They were officially presented with certificates at the service’s Worcester headquarters on Tuesday, April 10.

Amongst those praised for their training results was Dan Quinn, Droitwich’s station commander, Roberto Mourino, station commander of the Droitwich-based Urban Search and Rescue team, and Phil Griffiths, station commander for Redditch.

Chief Fire Officer at HWFRS Mark Yates said: “This is a highly regarded qualification and I’m proud to see our staff achieving it, all with either credits or distinctions. Health and safety in the work place is a necessity in an organisation like ours, and their learning will undoubtedly be of benefit in their day to day lives.”
