CUSTOMERS and staff at Webbs Garden Centre in Wychbold are holding a Donate, Don’t Dump Day for Primrose Hospice.
The award-winning garden centre has taken inspiration from the popular BBC 2 television Mary Queen of Charity Shops programme. A similar event for St Richard’s Hospice last year was a great success.
They are encouraging customers and staff to come along to Webbs on Thursday, March 25, between 10am and 6pm and bring at least one good quality item which is no longer wanted or needed.
There will be a Webbs lorry and member of staff in the car park ready to accept donations. These will then be taken directly to Primrose Hospice warehouse where everything will be sorted and taken into the charity’s shops to be sold.
Executive chairman Ed Webb said: “The aim of 'Donate, Don't Dump Day' is to improve the quality and quantity of donations to charity shops and for giving in this way to become a regular event. This will help charities such as Primrose to raise the much needed funds to carry out their invaluable work in the community.”
He added: “Our first Donate, Don’t Dump day last year was very busy and was a great success for the hospice. I’m sure lots of our customers and staff have just the right items tucked away at home. It’s a great opportunity to de-clutter and raise money for charity. Of course, if anyone wants to bring in more than one item, they will be very welcome to do so. ”
