A REGIONAL award ceremony saw Droitwich British Legion woman’s section walking away with major recognition.

Members won the Coventry Cup for their progress and efficiency, The Worcestershire Cup for the highest donation to a national scheme and the Smedley Crooke increased membership cup.

The awards are seen as terrific recognition for the Droitwich branch which has been struggling attracting new members of late.

Chairman of the woman’s section, Hazel Gandy, said: “We are really pleased to win these awards. Droitwich has had a difficult time of late but the woman’s section has always had a strong and effective unit. We invite new members to join us so that we can look to the future with even more optimism.”
