AN appeal is being made for football lovers to share their memories for an exhibition being held in Droitwich.

As yet a date for the football exhibition, covering from the 19th century to the present day, has not been finalised but it could be taking place during the summer holidays.

The exhibition is focused on all aspects of football, from amateur to professional in the town, including everything related to Droitwich Spa Football Club.

Lisa Backhouse, heritage manager, said: "We are appealing for anything football related, memorabilia and photographers, to be donated to us for the exhibition.

"We particularly need photos, obviously a key part of the exhibition providing a visual aid.

"We have pictures from 1900s, and of the current team, but need more in between."

Ben Lloyd, from Droitwich Spa FC, said: "DSFC will feature heavily in the exhibition due to our upturn in fortunes over the last couple of years - however the exhibition focuses on Saturday football in the town from the 19th century to present day."

Items donated will not be kept by the centre, and returned to their owner at the end of the exhibition.
