PUPILS from a Droitwich school took part in a special computer coding and programming workshop during the recent British Science Week.
The youngsters from Westacre Middle School in Droitwich learned how to programme and design their own robots and computer game during ComputerXplorers annual Programming for Primaries Day, held on March 11.
The initiative aims to underline the importance of coding and programming, shining a spotlight on the resources available to school to help them engage children at an early age.
Analysts predict that by 2030 the top jobs will all be technology based, which is why ComputerXplorers Cotswolds and Wyvern offered local primary schools free coding and programming workshops to help children get the first step on the digital skills ladder.
They also provided free training sessions for teachers.
Fran Greenaway, director of ComputerXplorers, said: “This year’s Programming for Primaries was the best ever.
"All of the free workshops were booked up very quickly and we’ve had great feedback from both the children and their teachers."
