ONE of Droitwich’s largest employers has raised more than £4,000 with a charity golf day at Gaudet Luce Golf Club.
The day, which was organized by bathroom and kitchen manufacturer AKW, raised £4,178.15 for St Richard’s Hospice with the day.
39 guest golfers took part from the company’s invited business partners, and the day of golf was followed by an evening dinner, raffle and auction where prizes were donated by the attendees.
Commenting on the amount raised Jayne Sargeant, community fundraiser for St Richard’s Hospice’s, said: ”We have been developing our links with AKW over the past few years with a range of different fundraising activities and we are immensely grateful for the amount raised during this corporate golf day. St Richard’s would like to sincerely thank AKW’s generous staff and customers.”
Paul Massey, AKW’s group CEO added: “At AKW, the nature of our business as the UK’s market leading manufacturer of accessible bathroom and kitchens, means that we have a strong empathy to those in need, and this naturally becomes a fundamental part of our corporate and social responsibilities in supporting local charities. This year’s corporate golf day has been extremely successful and we are very pleased to support St Richard’s Hospice.”
