INTERNATIONAL pianist Peter Donohoe is launching the new season of the Droitwich Concert Club with a varied programme of work from Scriabin, Schubert, Schumann, Debussy and Chopin.

Mr Donohoe was the joint Silver Medal winner of the Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow in 1982, and this will be his first visit to Droitwich for the 43rd season of Droitwich Concert Club. He has performed concertos with the world's leading orchestras and conductors, is a keen chamber musician and is greatly admired for his outstanding musicianship and dazzling technique.

Liz Ceredig from the club, said: “It is something of a coup for the club to have Peter Donohoe, the international pianist, opening our season.”

The concert is taking place from 7.30pm on Saturday, October 10 at the Droitwich Methodist Church on Worcester Road.
