THE Jinney Ring is teaming up with Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings and Hanbury Church to hold an Apple Day this year, celebrating all things apples, as as part of the fun, keen artists are being invited to get fruity as part of an Apple Art competition.
The competition, which is being run to encourage artists of all levels, media and enthusiasms, is calling for work in one of five categories with an apple theme.
The categories are: paintings in watercolours or oils; sketch, pencil or charcoal drawings; photographs featuring a carved apple, or something of the artist’s own composition; art from children up to six years old; and art from children aged seven to 12 years old.
All of the entries must have a connection to the apple theme, and they must all be submitted to the Jinney Ring gift shop before Sunday, September 27, along with a £3 fee, which will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Society.
All of the entries will be displayed in an exhibition at the Jinney Ring, and visitors will be able to vote for their favourites until October 4, when the winners are announced. Prizes include vouchers for use at the Jinney Ring.
