THERE’S a chance to find out some of the stories behind the ancient buildings on Droitwich High Street next month with a walking tour being organised by the Historic Droitwich Project.

The project has already run two popular walks around Droitwich, filling in participants on the historic background of some of the town’s landmarks, and this latest walk will take people along Friar Street and High Street with archaeologist Rob Hedge.

Rob will be talking about some of the timber-framed buildings in the town centre, which date back to the Saxon, Medieval and post-medieval era, explaining their context within the landscape of the town and surrounding area.

Places on the walk, which is taking place from 2pm on Sunday, October 4, are limited to just 20 people, so that everyone will be able to hear clearly.

The event is being offered free of charge, with funding from the Heritage Lottery, as part of the Historic Droitwich Project.
