AN inspirational cancer battler from Droitwich is preparing for a fundraising challenge supporting the hospice that helped her.

Mandy Haden beat lung cancer in 2012, brain cancer in 2014 and is battling lung cancer again.

She has become a passionate supporter of Primrose Hospice which supports people facing an end of life situation and their families during this difficult time.

Mandy said: "I visited Primrose Hospice as a client and very gratefully received the help of a counsellor and a complimentary therapist - all of which are volunteers.

"I was so impressed with their help that I became a volunteer myself in the Coppice Centre as a receptionist.

"Primrose is a wonderful place that I did not know even existed until I needed help with how I was feeling. I think this is the case for most people. So I became a volunteer to pay something back.”

Despite plans to have surgery in early August, Mandy wanted to raise money for Primrose before her operation.

On July 31, she is travelling to Snowdonia to ride on the longest and fastest zip wire in Europe - even though she is scared of heights.

Helen Crook, from the hospice, said: "Mandy is such an upbeat, positive person and always wants to do something to help others.

"She is a valued fundraiser and volunteer at the hospice."
