CHILDREN from Cutnall Green First School paid a visit recently to the Droitwich Spa Foodbank warehouse, to see what happens to items they donate.

There is a Foodbank collection point next to the school, which children regularly add to, and as part of the trip the children each brought one packet or tin to donate.

The group met with Meg and Peter Richards who manage the warehouse, and they were shown how their donations are all weighed, checked and dated, before being placed on the storage shelves.

They also got the chance to see how the food parcels are made up to be given to people in need in the local area.

Jenny Bulman from the Droitwich Spa Foodbank, said: “They were amazed by the stacks of food and asked many questions that showed they had a real grasp of the subject and of the problems of people in need. We were very happy to welcome them there and will gladly show other school parties around who would like to come.”
