A DROITWICH opticians is collecting food for the town’s foodbank throughout June and July.
Staff at the town’s branch of Specsavers in St Andrew’s Square are appealing to customers and other members of the community to bring in items of tinned or packaged food at any point from June 29 to Friday, July 24.
A trolley, which has been provided by Morrisons, will be placed at the front of the shop, with all the food collected going to the Droitwich Spa Foodbank.
Store director Emma Singh, said: “We have always thought the foodbank collection was a great local cause to help as it serves people in need in our town during these tough times. Shoppers may wish to bring in ingredients they don’t use from their homes or pick up an extra tin during their weekly shop. Just one item goes a long way, so we are asking our customers for their support.”
