THE newly formed sports consortium in Droitwich, which comprises four of the town’s sports clubs, Droitwich Spa Veterans Football Club, Droitwich Spa Open Age Football Club, Droitwich Spa Boy and Girls Football Club, and Droitwich Spa Hockey Club, is attempting to raise much needed funds to help with its operating costs.

The King George V Sports Community Interest Company Ltd, is organising a raffle, which will be drawn in Droitwich during Salt Fest on September 12.

Tickets are £1 or £5 for a book of six, and any sports clubs or organisations in the town who want to help sell them, are being offered 50 per cent of what they sell for their own fundraising purposes.

Prizes on offer include £800 off a narrow boat holiday, a year’s gold membership of Gaudet Luce Golf Club, two meal vouchers for the Gardeners Arms, an autographed cricket bat from Worcestershire County Cricket Club, and a year’s free membership at the Rivers Leisure Centre.

To buy tickets, or to find out how to sell them through a sports organisation in Droitwich, contact the chairman of the King George V Sports Community Interest Company, Richard Whittall, on 07974 177230 or write to richardwhittall@btinternet.com.
