THE Chateau Impney Hotel just outside Droitwich is playing host to dance spectacular Strictly Worcestershire for the second year running this Thursday.

The local ‘celebrity’ dance competition, will see Worcestershire figures from county organisations including Worcestershire Ambassadors, Angel Hands Childcare, Worcester Bosch Logistics, and Premier Places as well as two local GPs from the county, all learning to dance in a bid to win a coveted glitterball trophy.

Profits from the event, which is being organised by Sanctuary Group, are being split between the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign and Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer, and veteran broadcaster Bob Warman, together with former trade minister and business ambassador Lord Digby Jones, dancer and choreographer Katie Love and managing editor and owner of Live 24-Seven magazines Katie McPhilimey, will be making up the judging panel on the night.

Producer Gerard Smith, who is competing, partnered by Harrison Clark Rickerbys marketing director Anna Roby-Welford, said: “After a successful debut in 2014, it is a privilege to raise funds once again for two excellent causes.

“Over the past few months, the contestants have given up an extraordinary amount of time to rehearse their routines and I’m sure the 700-strong audience will show their appreciation on what will be a memorable evening.”

The Strictly Worcestershire competition will be taking place at the Chateau Impney on Thursday, May 21. Tickets for the event are now sold out, but people can still donate to the two charities via the Strictly Worcestershire Just Giving site at justgiving.com/teams/strictlyworcs.
