PLANS are being developed to improve how organisations in Worcestershire work together to support both adults and children with autism.
The Worcestershire Autism Strategy sets out how organisations such as Worcestershire County Council and various other health bodies will work closely to help people with the condition live as full a life as possible.
Speaking at a meeting of Worcestershire County Council’s Health and Well Being Board on Tuesday, May 12, chairman of patient’s watchdog Healthwatch Worcestershire – which was involved in the development of the plans – Peter Pinfield said he was pleased the strategy is taking shape.
“It’s one of those areas which some members of the public don’t take into account but for some people it’s a really difficult situation,” he said.
The strategy is expected to be fully finalised and launched in this summer.
The draft plans can be seen at www.worcestershire.gov.uk.
