DRIVERS in the West Midlands are among the most likely to be involved in a road rage incident.

More than a third of British people, 37 per cent, have been caught up in road rage, but that number crept up to 41 per cent in the West Midlands - the second highest in the country.

The figures, from Confused.com. also reveal nearly a fifth, 19 per cent, of any road rage incident lead to a physical confrontation, again this increased to 27 per cent in the West Midlands.

The research follows Freedom of Information data from 15 police forces, which revealed a 59 per cent leap in road rage incidents over the 2013 to 2014 period.

But the research also revealed some dispute into what counts as road rage with people saying it could be physical, others saying it also includes verbal abuse and people following others in their car.

Volvo drivers were described as the angriest and the most likely to be involved in road rage.
