A SPA art group is holding a painting day to help create a public mural to highlight Droitwich's history.

Members of Droitwich Art Network is inviting creative volunteers to help create a mural on Saturday, March 28.

Volunteers will be able to help paint a new instalment that will be hung above the wall behind Malvern Tyres at Netherwick canal basin.

The mural has been designed by students of Witton Middle School, and the design is a montage of images relating to Droitwich’s Royal Charter of 1215, and the Magna Carta.

It will be on display from May until October and will be able to be seen by visitors in Vines Park.

Volunteers are asked to meet at St Andrew's Square, near Boots and Peacock, for the event which takes place between 10am and 4pm.

Water based paints will be used, with gloves and aprons provided.

Money raised at the event goes to St Richard's Hospice.
