STAFF at a Droitwich hospital went on a sponsored walk with a difference for Comic Relief.
Dozens of staff at BMI Droitwich Spa Hospital in St Andrews Road – all wearing red noses – had a go at walking a mile on the state-of-the-art anti gravity AlterG treadmill to raise money for the national appeal on Friday, March 13.
The hospital’s executive director Jenny Liggitt said: “We haven’t had the AlterG treadmill for long so everyone was keen to give it a try.
“I have to say it was a very strange feeling running along while only having to carry 20 per cent of your bodyweight.
“We all had fun and managed to do our bit for Comic Relief.”
The treadmill – which uses technology developed by NASA – allows people to walk with as much as 80 per cent of their bodyweight lifted by its differential air pressure technology.
Cash raised during the day is still being totted up.
