REGISTRATIONS are coming in faster than expected for Great Expectations 2015 – the first conference of its kind for school leaders in the West Midlands.

An initiative of the Teaching Schools Council and National College for Training & Leadership, the West Midlands School Leaders Annual Conference, will take place in the Regent Centre of the Chateau Impney, Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire on Wednesday, May 20 and is expected to attract more than 300 educational leaders from all key stages and across all styles of institution.

A spokesman said: "This high profile, not-for-profit conference, championing the school-led system, promises to deliver an engaging and enthusiasm-filled day through an informative and diverse programme for heads, principals, managers, governors and NLE and LLEs.

"Organised by Britannia and Blackfriars Teaching School Alliances, #GreatExp15 will be a vehicle to discuss the new landscape of the school led system and particularly how schools and school leaders in the West Midlands region will travel through it. So why not join the debate on Twitter @WMschoolled using the hashtag #GreatExp15."

Andrew Warren, director of Britannia Teaching School Alliance, Belgrave St Bartholomew’s Academy, says; “I believe that with the conference being post-election it is ideally timed to help us think through the issues facing all educators in a potentially new landscape and the perfect opportunity to come together and share our concerns and hopes.”

Hosted by Mary Rhodes, BBC Midlands Today presenter, conference proceedings kick off at 9am and include expert contributions from Richard Gerver (educator, innovator and author), Charlie Taylor (National College for Teaching & Leadership), John Tomsett (headteacher, Huntington School, York) and many, more high-profile experts in the field plus an inspirational keynote from adventurer and author, Alastair Humphreys.
