A CAR which has been left abandoned in a car park in Droitwich for at least five months could be about to be removed by Wychavon District Council.

The car, a silver Audi A4 has been parked in the St Andrew’s long stay car park in Droitwich town centre for several months, and has already accumulated several warning and penalty notices from Wychavon District Council.

The council’s car parking team had posted a notice on the car saying that it was ‘in such a condition that it ought to be destroyed’, but they were unable to have the vehicle removed until they could establish that it could be classed as an abandoned vehicle. Attempts had been made to trace the car’s owner, but the council had received no response.

A spokesman for Wychavon District Council said: “We now have the authority to remove the vehicle and will appoint a contractor to come and collect it and deal with it as an abandoned vehicle.”
