PEOPLE in the Droitwich south west ward will have the chance to put issues to their district councillors as part of Wychavon District Council’s ‘Meet Your Council’ event.

Councillors Tom Noyes and Graham Beale will be outside Witton Post Office in Worcester Road from 10-11am on Thursday, November 20 to talk to local residents, before moving on to visit several local businesses.

The events let people make sure that their views and suggestions are heard and give them the chance to chat face-to-face with their ward councillor.

Tracy Perkins, partnership support officer at Wychavon District Council, said: “Since June 2014, our Meet your Council events have taken place in fifteen wards. Many of them took place at summer events including community games, fetes, a flower show and a music festival.

“A broad range of issues were raised by residents and businesses including highways issues – problems with specific roads and pavements and overgrown hedges, concern about new developments, slow and intermittent broadband, businesses rates and empty shops. Generally people like living in Wychavon and they mentioned community spirit, local events, the parks and our approach to supporting businesses as things they value.

“At these upcoming events we have open surgeries or similar opportunities for people to come along without the need to make an appointment and chat to their councillor and our officers, so we hope that anyone with anything to say will take the opportunity to come and meet us.”
