CHILDREN at St Peter’s First School and St Peter’s Pre-School in Droitwich took part in Red, White and Blue Day last week.
The day is organised jointly by ABF the Soldiers' Charity, the RAF Benevolent Fund and the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, which jointly care for the welfare of soldiers, sailors and airmen and their families.
The day launched in 2011 with 54,000 children from 175 schools taking part by donating to wear red, white and blue for the day, and is still going strong.
Tracey O’Keeffe-Pullan, headteacher at St Peter’s First School, which raised £428 for the charity, said: “It’s been lovely to see the children dressed in red, white and blue. This has been a special day, thinking about the children of those who are serving our country.”
Pupils at St Peter’s Pre-School also raised £45 by dressing up in red, white and blue, as well as organising a cake stall for parents.
