FANS of US jazz music from the 1930s through to the 1980s will have a lot to enjoy later this month with a musical evening organised by the Friends of Droitwich Spa Lido.
The evening will feature a five piece jazz-focussed band playing songs made famous by the likes of everyone from Billie Holiday, Fats Waller and Louis Armstrong, to Chet Baker, Miles Davis and John Coltrane. As well as more recent hits from Stevie Wonder and Herbie Hancock.
Tickets for the evening include wine and nibbles as well as the chance to see the band, which is made up of drums, bass, guitar and saxophone, as well as several jazz vocalists.
Friends chairman, Suzi Wood, said: “The Friends of Droitwich Spa Lido raises funds to support the ongoing existence of Droitwich Spa Lido, so please come along and show your support.”
The concert, which is raising money for upkeep of the lido, is taking place on Friday, October 24 at the Sacred Heart Hall in Droitwich from 7.30pm, and tickets are priced at £10.
