BUDDING artists in Droitwich are being given the chance to win a hamper full of art supplies worth £500 to help kickstart their career later this month, as well as the opportunity to have their work displayed in the Hobbycraft store in Wychbold.

The ‘KickstART Art’ competition is being opened to people with creative talent aged 16 and over at the Wychbold store with the winning artist being given an art hamper worth £60, and added into a national competition to win a £500 hamper.

The enter the competition, artists have to submit a piece of work in any medium, from drawing and painting, to sketches or sculpture.

Entries must be no bigger that 50x30cm, and need to be submitted to the store no later than Friday, October 24.

Members of the public will then have the chance to vote for their favourite until Sunday, November 2.

Store manager, Neil Handford, said: “We understand how difficult it can be for young people to showcase their talents. Our KickstART Art competition is designed to support budding local artists in a way which will also get our customers involved, as they’ll have the final say on our winner. We hope it will also inspire more people to take up art.”
