DOGS and their owners in Droitwich can take a closer look at water therapy this weekend with an open day taking place at Bluewaters Pet Centre in Elmley Lovett.

The centre, which is based in Ryelands Business Centre, is opening its doors for a day on Saturday, September 20 when dog owners can take a look around the swimming pool facilities.

Visitors will be able to watch swim demonstrations with dogs from the centre, as well as being given welcome packs with goodies for their dogs and details of local pet services.

The centre has a 3.75m long pool where dogs can swim, either for weight loss, or to help recover from injuries without putting weight on their limbs.

Holly Davies, who set up the centre three months ago, said: “I’ve always enjoyed working with dogs, and doing agility and flyball training in my spare time. I have three dogs myself, my cocker spaniel aptly named Rio especially loves coming to the centre.”

The centre also runs weekly canine massage clinics and is hoping to add a doggie daycare facility for dogs or puppies that can’t be left at home during the day.

Dogs are welcome to come along to the open day, but the area around the pool is quite small, so it may not be suitable for dogs that don’t enjoy the company of other dogs.

The open day is running from 11am to 3pm. For more information, call the centre on 01299 251070 or visit bluewaterspetcentre.com.
