A GOLF club in Droitwich Spa has teamed up with Worcestershire Wildlife Trust for a charity golfing event.

Gaudet Luce Golf Club and the trust are inviting keen golfers to take part an 18-hole match followed by a dinner and prizes for the teams coming first and second.

Event organiser Peter Case said: “Our golf day is promising to be a really exciting day and a great way for golfers to do something they love while also helping wildlife across the county.

“For many golfers, getting out onto the links is as much about being in the great outdoors as it is about playing golf and meeting up with friends. This offers a chance to put something back to those great outdoors while having an enjoyable - and perhaps competitive - day out with friends or colleagues.”

Gareth Holliday society organiser at Gaudet Luce said: “We’re delighted to be hosting this event as we recognise the importance within the local community not just to provide an outstanding and ever-improving golf facility, but to achieve this by demonstrating our commitment in support of the aims of Worcestershire Wildlife Trust where our golfers and visitors can respect and enjoy an environment where wildlife and sport can exist together side by side”

Local sports photographer, Joe Turner, will be on site taking photographs throughout the event.

Places cost £240 per team, which includes breakfast rolls on arrival, match, reception drink, dinner, an opportunity for team photographs and prizes. Dinner tickets are available for non-players wanting to support the day.

The event will take place on Friday, October 3 from 11am to 9pm.
