A BRIDE enjoyed a memorable start to her wedding day taking a trip on the charity touring narrowboat the Pamela May.

Bride Deborah Harris and eight of her wedding party left the Railway Inn, next to Netherwych Basin, and arrived in style in Wychbold for her wedding on Friday, August 8.

Canon Keith Withington, the priest leading the marriage service, was on the towpath ready to meet Deborah.

After her arrival, Deborah walked up the footpath and then married James Smith at St Michael's Church.

The boat, which is owned by the Droitwich Waterways Trust, usually takes tourists on short canal cruises.

Sandy Laird from the Droitwich Waterways Trust, said Deborah's arrival on the barge made for a glamorous start to her wedding day.
