VISITORS to Hanbury Hall this summer will be able to take in the newly-refurbished formal dining rooms, which are set to open as tea rooms.
This is the first time that the ‘Chambers’ rooms will have been opened to the public. They would originally have been used by the Vernon family as a formal bedchamber, but now they will be starting a new life, serving afternoon teas and homemade cakes.
The rooms are named after the builder of Hanbury Hall, Thomas Vernon, who worked as a lawyer at the court of chancery during the 1700s. It was his work in chambers which allowed him to build the hall.
There will also be a second area, ‘Peaches’ which will be available for larger family gatherings, parties and club and business meetings.
Chambers has already opened to the public, and is open every day.
