NEXT weekend the Jinney Ring Craft Centre is playing host to a whole host of unusual pets to raise money for the Cinnamon Trust.

The Trust proves help to elderly and terminally ill people who are experiencing difficulties with the daily care of their pets, helping to keep pet ownership practical for them.

Visitors to the Jinney Ring for ‘Animals R Magic’ will have the chance to meet everything from creepy crawlies and ferrets, to guinea-pigs, birds of prey and ponies, picking up tips and advice from experts in how to look after their pets, as well as finding out more about some unusual ones.

Four-legged friends will be able to enter a Novelty Dog Show, and there will be demonstrations of gun dogs at work, while dog owners will also be able to pick up tips on dog training or take part in agility and rally obedience demonstrations.

Dogs can also see how fast they can run by taking part in a scurry, and the organisers are hoping there will be the chance to have pets microchipped for free.

Younger guests might run into Peppa Pig, and they’ll also get the chance to take a ride on a donkey.

Archers actress Sara Coward, who plays Caroline Sterling on the show, will also be at the event, signing copies of her book ‘Dialogues with my Dog’.

‘Animals R Magic’ is now in its third year, and will be held at the centre on Sunday, July 20 from 11am to 5pm. Admission to the gardens is £2 for adults and £1 for children.
