A 37-YEAR-old Droitwich driver who used his car as a weapon during an argument in a Bromsgrove street has been given a suspended jail sentence.

Ryan Lowe reversed his car twice after stopping in the middle of the road and crashed into the car behind causing £2,000 worth of damage, Worcester Crown Court was told.

The driver of the car behind, Adrian Oakes, had got out and was forced to jump out of the way, Cathlyn Orchard prosecuting, said.

Lowe, of Old Coach Road, Droitwich, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving.

Recorder Graeme Cliff said there had been a long-standing dispute between the two men and Lowe had "used his car as a weapon" during the incident in Austin Road, Bromsgrove, in October, 2012. He was given a 26 week sentence suspended for 12 months with 200 hours of unpaid work. He was banned from the road for 18 months and ordered to take an extended re-test.
