THE Gaudet Luce Golf Club in Droitwich is teaming up with the Guide Dogs for the Blind to help raise money for the charity with a fundraising golf day.

People are invited to come along on the day in teams of four, paying a donation of £35 per person, before playing 18 holes of golf, and enjoying a two course dinner at the club.

Players will also receive coffee and a bacon roll on their arrival at the event, which is taking place on Friday, July 4.

Alison Nuttall has worked as a guide dog breeder and trainer for the past 10 years.

She said: “It is great that we get support from local business and clubs like Gaudet Luce as Guide Dogs receive no Government funding and the cost of each dog from birth to retirement is £50,000. Guide Dogs really do change lives not just for guide dog owners giving them independence and freedom of movement like everyone else, but also for volunteers and their families. It is amazing what a difference that bond between humans and dogs can make. I really hope we get a good number of people taking part in the golf day and hope it will become an annual event.”

Tee times for the golf day are from 10.06am to 13.50pm. To find out more, or to book in a team, contact the Guide Dogs Birmingham mobility team on 08453 727434 or write to birmingham@guidedogs.org.uk.
