A DROITWICH nursing home will be opening its doors to the public this Friday as part of National Care Home Open Day.

St john’s Nursing Dementia Home is encouraging visitors to take a look around the home, visit the garden, and chat to the residents and staff.

The day provides an opportunity to find out what the care home, which provides nursing and respite care for older people, is like.

The home also helps people with dementia on a personal level, and staff are hoping the open day will show what a positive and inspiring place it can be,

Cath Sandy, manager of St John’s, said, “All of us at St John’s are really looking forward to welcoming lots of visitors on National Care Home Open Day, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to show people some of the fantastic work we do.

“Many people still have misconceptions about care homes, and opening our doors to the local community is a great way to change people’s minds. St John’s is a really cheerful and positive place to be, and we hope lots of people will join us on June 20 to have a look around, meet our residents, and see that for themselves.”
