RESIDENTS at risk of osteoporosis are being offered a number of scans running over two days
There are sessions available on Friday, July 4 at Redditch Town Hall from 2pm to 6pm.
There is also the chance for people to get a scan on Tuesday , July 8 at Droitwich Community Hall from 9am to11am, Bromsgrove Council House from 1pm to 3pm and at Alcester Town Hall from 4pm to 6pm.
Scans for risk of future fracture in postmenopausal women are not always readily available on the NHS but people can now have a scan for £22.
Osteoporosis is a condition that affects the bones, causing them to become weak and fragile and more likely to break (fracture).
These fractures most commonly occur in the spine, wrist and hips but can affect other bones such as the arm or pelvis.
There are often no warning signs for osteoporosis until someone experiences a fracture, often after a minor fall.
