WEST Mercia Police are appealing for a Droitwich couple to come forward after their dog was attacked in Worcester earlier this year.

The incident occurred on Saturday, March 8 at approximately 3.10pm on the side of the River Severn, close to the Diglis Hotel.

An elderly couple were seen walking a small dog along the riverbank, when their dog was attacked by another dog, an Alaskan Malamute.

A passing jogger witnessed the incident and advised the couple who said they were from Droitwich, to take the dog, which had lost a lot of blood, to a vet as soon as possible, and then contact the police.

Police have tracked down the Alaskan Malamute, and have made attempts to locate the other dog, which was called Pickles, but with no luck, despite contacting vets in Droitwich.

They would like to put a control order on the offending dog, but need to speak to the owners of the injured dog in order to do so.

If anyone is aware of the dog owners in Droitwich, they are asked to contact Keith Heritage at West Mercia Police, on 01905 331320 quoting incident no. 0491s080314.
