MEMBERS of Droitwich Rock Choir were among nearly 200 singers who headed off to Disneyland Paris recently to add a touch of rock to the theme park.
The choir members managed to surprise their fellow ferry passengers on the way over, by forming a flash mob during the crossing and staging their own performance of ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ which was joined in with by the captain and crew.
At Disneyland, the singers from across England and Wales performed a number of tracks for crowds at the Videopolis Theatre, including ‘Something Inside so Strong’ and ‘Ain’t No Mountain’.
Rock Choir leader, Helen Just, who runs weekly sessions in Droitwich, said: “We wanted to give the members an experience they would never forget and their enthusiasm shone through so well in their performances and really helped to get the crowds going. The response from the audience was amazing.”
Before the Rock Choir returned home they finished off their trip with one final performance at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, singing to an audience of Parisians and tourists.
