A KEEN Droitwich photographer has won a competition organised by developers McCarthy & Stone.

Margaret Townley, who is a member of the Droitwich Camera Club, won the Through a Lens competition, which called for locals to send in images of their favourite Droitwich sights.

Ms Townley’s photograph of a snowy Droitwich landscape was chosen as the winner, securing her £350 as the top prize for the contest.

She said: “I was absolutely delighted to learn that my photograph was chosen as the winning entry. I am part of the Droitwich Camera Club and I just do it for a hobby, so I’m very pleased that I could showcase the beautiful sights that Droitwich has to offer as it is especially beautiful in the winter.”

Fellow Camera Club member Ian Johnston, and Ken Harler, were runners up in the competition, winning £100 each for their entries, all of which are now on display in the company’s sales office in Droitwich.

Gill Sabin, regional sales and marketing director for McCarthy & Stone, added: “Droitwich is such a lovely town and we’ve had some fantastic entries for the competition. The judges felt that Margaret, Ian and Ken’s photographs really stood out and we now have displayed them for visitors and future homeowners to see for years to come.”
