A GROUP of Droitwich fundraisers held a charity walk and a Fun Day in the town on Saturday to raise money for Macmillan Nurses and St Richard’s Hospice.
The fundraising team organised by Elaine Harris and Helen Fletcher Williams set out with approximately 30 walkers on Saturday, May 3 from Digliss Basin in Worcester, along the canal, and back to Droitwich.
Last year the fundraisers managed to raise more than £8,500 for Cancer Awareness with a number of events, and this year’s walk netted £1,500 toward their funds with sponsorship money still coming in.
Ms Harris said: “We had a fantastic turn and a great crowd.”
The charity walk was followed by a family fun day at the Westcroft Pub which rasied a further £930, and the fundraisers also have plans for a fancy dress pub crawl, and a bake sale as part of the Droitwich Festival on June 21.
