DROITWICH-based Barton Coldform, which makes bespoke critical fastenings and special cold forgings for the automotive industry, has invested a quarter of a million pounds in new state-of-the-art machinery. Adding a new SEMS thread rolling machine to the company’s already impressive set-up will see Barton strengthen its position at the forefront of the industry.

The new machine will offer backup to the company's existing thread rolling capabilities, while offering a new range of products to its global customers. The machine will be built to Barton’s specification and will be delivered in around five months time.

Andrew Nutall, Barton’s managing director, said: “Our manufacturing facility is one of the most unique in Europe, offering clients a vast range of services and giving us the ability to tailor projects to meet each individual client’s needs’’.

Barton’s sustained investment is already starting to pay off, having acquired several new clients following months of technical discussions and trials, which will bring in increased revenue and new challenges for its team.
