DROITWICH Spa residents are being invited to get outside and get walking as part of a week-long short walks festival.

The festival, which is running from May 3-10, is being organized by Spa Walkers, which is celebrating its sixth anniversary, and will be offering ramblers several free walks around the area, as a way of making it easier for them to try out a new lifestyle and get involved with the festival.

On Monday, May 5, walkers are invited to take an eight-mile circular walk around Droitwich, starting from Droitwich Leisure Centre at 10.30am. Afternoon tea is on offer for £5 at Salwarpe church, 30 minutes before the end of the walk.

On Wednesday, May 7, there’s a circular four-mile walk around Hadzor starting from Vines Park by the walk information boards at 10.30am, with a stop at Gaudet Luce Golf Club for coffee after three miles.

For more information on the walks or to book a place, write to spawalkers@hotmail.co.uk or call Sue on 01905 778813 or Mike on 01905 775485.

Proceeds from the walks and refreshments are going towards Salwarpe Church and Save Our Green Spaces, and unfortunately dogs are not allowed to take part.
