DROITWICH residents are being encouraged to sign up to a new scheme designed to give people more power over their fuel bills.
The scheme, which is being supported by Wychavon District Council, is run by the company ichoosr.
Residents are asked to register their details, including their current gas and electricity provider, so that the company can go to various companies with a large number of potential customers and try to secure cheaper rates for them.
Wychavon district councillor Audrey Steel, said: “This scheme offers a great opportunity for our residents, their friends and family to potentially make valuable savings on their energy bills. The power really rests with the people, as the more residents who sign up for the scheme, the more bargaining power ichoosr will have with the energy companies when it comes to agreeing a price for gas or electricity.”
People interested in joining the scheme should register their information by Monday, June 9 at wychavon.gov.uk by following the ‘Wychavon switch’ link.
There’s no commitment involved, but people will need their gas or electricity bill details to hand, as well as their reference or account numbers.
