THE Chateau Impney Hotel will be making it onto TV screens over the next few weeks after it was used as a filming location for a programme about car sales.

The hotel formed the backdrop for an episode of the Discovery Channel show ‘Wheeler Dealers’ which follows the efforts of expert car salesman Mike Brewer and mechanic Edd China to buy and renovate distinctive cars which they then sell for a profit.

The Chateau Impney was the setting for the sale of a 1958 Citroen 2CV.

Chateau Impney’s general manager, Ben Elder, said: “We were delighted to be able to host the Wheeler Dealers team at Chateau Impney. It was a fun day and we were thrilled that some of our staff could play a small part in the programme.

“While the Citroen 2CV was, of course, the star of the show, we like to think that the Chateau played its part. We are looking forward to seeing how the programme turns out.”

The hotel has already featured in several programmes this year, hosting the Top Gear team as they launched their ‘Hot Hatch’ challenge, and providing a stop off for Michael Portillo on his BBC Two series ‘Great British Railway Journeys’

Mr Elder added: “We are fortunate to have such a historic and picturesque setting, which really lends itself to TV programmes. We are starting to build a reputation for providing a stunning backdrop for production companies to use to bring their programmes to life. Not only do opportunities like these help to promote the Chateau, they also promote the town and the surrounding areas.”

The Wheeler Dealers episode featuring the Citroen 2CV and Chateau Impney will be shown on the Discovery Channel on Monday, April 7 at 9pm.
